On our way to California...
As most of you know I am on vacation with my sister Kim and her family in California. We left on Saturday morning and took three days to drive to Anaheim, California. I spent most of the time sitting in the back seat watching movies or sleeping (so I wouldn’t get carsick). The drive down went really well and the girls did GREAT for being in the car so long. Of course each of the days we did something fun on the way down. On Saturday night we drove straight to the hotel and had time to go swimming, which Amanda absolutely loved… Elizabeth was a little more hesitant about the water. On Sunday we drove through the Redwood Forest and even had a picnic in the woods. Of course we were also able to do a unexpected stop at the ocean to enjoy the beach. Amanda was in heaven until as she told us, “It was a bad ocean and it got her.” Or in other words, she got knocked down by the waves and got soaking wet, sand everywhere and salt water in the mouth… she wasn’t too thrilled with that, but it was fun watching. On Monday we toured San Francisco, including the Golden Gate Bridge, a boat ride under the bridge and next to Alcatraz, a tour of the Fisherman’s Warf, Clam Chowder for lunch and then we continued on our way. Here are some pictures for you to enjoy of our first three days… more to come later.
