New York... all the way back to Maine..!

Yesterday we left the big city and drove into Connecticut... though we didn't spend much time there... we quickly continued on into Rhode Island, the smallest state. We detoured off our "route" and decided to check out Newport... which was absolutely beautiful and worth the visit..!

A view from Newport at the harbor... the begining of the scenic route..!
The scenic drive was full of mansions, castles, and houses much bigger than I would ever own... actually I wouldn't want to own a house that big it would take forever to clean and cost a fortune to heat... but it was fun to look at them at least..~!
After the drive we decided to take a walk on the cliff walk... it had a gorgeous view of the water on one side and amazing houses on the other..!

We then continued our drive into Massachusetts... we stayed the night in Brockton, which was a small town on the way up to Boston... they had a fair going on that night so we got to see early fireworks... after eating dinner at Friendlys a very popular restaurant out here that has delicious ice cream... it then took us awhile to find an available hotel for the night...

We started the day off a little later than normal and headed into Boston. It was perfect timing to arrive today as we walked the Freedom Trail and were reminded of the freedom that we do have here in the United States...

This is where the Boston Massacre took place...

The "USS Constitution" is the oldest Navy Ship...

This is the site at Bunker Hill... the end of the trail.

Our next stop was dinner... we were starving and rather enjoyed the pizza place we found.

I decided to do some studying on this trip and figured this was as good a place as any...
What do you think? Shouldn't be too hard..!

Once again we continued our drive and crossed through New Hampshire to get back into Maine for the night... it is hard to believe that tomorrow the trip is officially over.

I guess I can't have a vacation without having at least one sunset picture... this was an amazing trip, a lot of fun, relaxing, a great time to visit with friends and my parents, an opportunity to enjoy God's creation, a refreshing time in the Word... all in all it was a good trip..!
Next Post... a few things God taught me during this time away..!
