Matthew and I decided to spend part of our vacation up north
near Glacier National Park. It was the
one thing that I really wanted to do when we were in Montana. I did a little of research ahead of time to
see what I wanted to do and where to stay… and so we decided not to stay at a
camp ground within the actual park. In
order to get a camp site you had to arrive super early… and they had strict
regulations on using a generator.
Instead, we decided to stay nearby at the Hungry Horse Reservoir,
which was still part of a National Forest. So, Matthew was able to get us a 50%
discount on the camping price and we had a lot more privacy. We ended up having to get the electrical cord
fixed on the trailer so we didn’t get to the campground until after 2:00 in the
afternoon and yet we still got the perfect camping spot. It was a spot in the shade all day and didn’t
have much traffic go by throughout the day.

We were only about 30 minutes from Glacier National Park so we
just drove in the days that we wanted to do things at the park. The first thing we did was to stop at the
visitor center and find out what activities were wheelchair accessible to make
sure that I knew about everything Matthew would be able to do at the park. Once we got the down low we started our
exploration.
Our first adventure was the to do the Trail of the Cedars. It is the most popular hiking trail at the
park and is completely wheelchair accessible.
It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. We took our time enjoying the time out in
nature and enjoyed the shaded areas of the hike. It didn’t hurt that we were able to see a
waterfall which is one of our favorite things to see when traveling.

We then continued to drive the Going to the Sun Road. Matthew, of course, would stop at any of the
turn offs to let me take pictures. He
knows how important the pictures are to me… and is very good about making sure
I get all the pictures that I want. It
was late by the time we finished for the day so we headed into town for dinner
at a Mexican restaurant before going back to our campsite for the night.
