Service Project - A day trip to Silverdale

We have a wonderful group of youth… who love to serve others.  One of my favorite parts about going to Bev’s with the youth, besides the fact that we can serve someone who is truly deserving of it, is watching the youth interact with her.  I love how one of them asked to hug her and how they all thanked her for the opportunity to serve.

Our trip to Silverdale was a hot one.  We had a lot of work to accomplish and they did it with a smile regardless of the heat.  They were willing to do anything asked of them.  I don’t even know all that they did but some of their projects were pressure washing the driveway, cutting out blackberry bushes, trimming down trees, dragging branches to the burn pile, emptying out an old shed, ect.

Of course we took a break for lunch but then they got right back out there and started working again until right before dinner.  While Matthew was preparing dinner and after eating they were able to enjoy the arcade games.  We headed out after a long days work in time to make it back to the church on time.
