I was able to take five weeks off of school in order to go
on a month long honeymoon to Argentina. Of
course I had to work extra hard before and afterwards in order to do this. We were smart and decided not to fly to
Argentina until Monday evening so we had a couple days in town before the long
flight.
Matthew had wanted to take me to the beach for months so he
was more than thrilled to plan what we were going to do for the first couple
nights. He had a reoccurring dream about
us having a campfire on the beach all night long and watching the sunrise in
the morning. Of course, neither of us
had the energy to stay awake all night after the wedding but we did have the
chance to enjoy a campfire for a couple hours.
Matthew in heaven... driving on the beach with his wife...
We got a great deal on our hotel since it was our honeymoon
A fire on the beach... watching the sunset..!
We weren't ready to leave... but we were excited to get to Argentina..!
We had a very relaxing time at Ocean Shores before coming back to my parents to pick up our luggage for our trip to Argentina. We had a surprise visit from Karen and the kids while we were waiting for Jeremy and Maria to show up with their children and take us to the airport. It was fun to be able to see everyone before we left town for the month. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see Shane since he was staying with his grandmother in Bremerton.
The flight was uneventful but long with a couple of layovers. One of the layovers was in Panama where we got to leave the airport for a couple hours to take a tour of the city. We had an exchange student, Zeidy, live with us back when Matthew and I dated in Junior High. Her sister was very kind to pick us up at the airport and drive us around showing us the sights before we found a place to eat with a view of the canal.
Lunch in Panama... Matthew loved looking at the boats
Enjoying seafood with Zeidy's sister..!
We then continued on to Cordoba where transferred to the bus station for a couple hours of waiting around before the bus ride to Catamarca. We were both more than ready to arrive. Thankfully the Millars picked us up and brought us to the house we were going to stay at for the month. Soledad and Maxi were gracious enough to lend us their house so we could have some privacy. Before we could get some rest though we had to make the introductions as everyone was anxiously waiting to meet Matthew.
Just a few that were waiting for us to arrive..!
We had a balance between hanging out with people and just spending time alone. There were some highlights for the both of us. The one thing that Matthew wanted to do while we were in Argentina was take Maxi fishing. They had the opportunity to do so when we went out to the country for Gustavo’s birthday party.
Matthew loves being able to say he went fishing on his honeymoon..!
Our first dance as a married couple..!
Maxi and Sole - Who graciously lent us their home..!
Matthew as able to give his testimony at church which allowed the people get to know him a little better. Guillermo only translated the first sentence or two before I had to go up and do it. It sure made me remember my Spanish quickly. J I was in heaven worshipping in Spanish once again and Matthew had a great experience and did his best to sing along.
