There was a lot to celebrate in the
first couple weeks of December. But also, there was a lot of normal everyday
life going on. We met Cooper’s new case manager. She came to the house to
introduce herself and get to know us. We found out that his annual review was coming
up so she would be back at the house in a month. Cooper also had multiple doctor
appointments, and I started the process to find out what his dental insurance
was so he could get in to see the dentist.
I had my regular scheduled Botox
appointment for migraines which was much needed. My doctor confirmed my suspicions
that this time of year was difficult for a lot of people. I have had a lot more
migraines than normal and was looking forward to some relief that comes after
Botox.
One huge celebration this month was when
I finally found out the results of the last two components of my National
Boards. Even though we have to submit them in May…we don’t find out the results
until December. It is a LONG wait, and I did really well not thinking about it
until a couple weeks before the results were going to be released. I noticed on
Facebook that people started mentioning that they saw fireworks… earlier than I
expected results to be released so I logged on and was so happy to see the
fireworks of my own. Even though I was expecting to pass… finally having the results
and knowing I passed brought so much joy. Matthew wanted to celebrate but
neither of us were feeling the greatest… so we settled on Blizzards from Dairy
Queen.
The other huge celebration in December
was Mason’s graduation. He had completed the program at Washington Youth
Academy. He was able to get enough credits to be ahead in school. We are so
proud of Mason and how far he has come. He was even chosen as one of the few to
give a speech at graduation. He has a heart that is tender towards the others
in the program, and I know that he will miss his time there and the friendships
he made. I am excited to see where God leads him in the future.
