Bison Range… with the Read Family

One of the places that I really wanted to go to when we returned to Ronan was the Bison Range… on the way up we found out the hours and decided to come back with people from the church.  It didn’t take much to convince Levi and Jen to come with us.

Before going on a tour we had a picnic lunch at the park.  Jen made some yummy food and we got to enjoy one another’s company as we ate.

Levi and his boys

I love Hadassah's smile...

We had the perfect set up for our tour of the range… Jen and I sat on a couch in the bed of the truck with Hadassah and Nehemiah (part of the time) while Matthew, Levi and Uriah sat in the truck and found the animals for us to take pictures of.  I had a blast visiting with Jen on the drive and enjoyed the beauty of the view almost as much as seeing all the animals.

Loving on Nehemiah

The boys up front spotting the animals...

We saw all of the various types of animals that live at the Bison Range… including black bear, bison, elk, and deer.  I think this is the closest I have ever been to a bear… thankfully it was eating the carcass of a bison and wasn’t interested in us.  Another highlight was having the bison cross the road right in front of us… once again I was grateful it wasn’t interested in us.  I don’t think I realized how vulnerable we were sitting in the back of the truck until after the trip so I was able to enjoy every part of it.

Even without seeing all the animals the beautiful scenery and company was worth the trip.  We were able to get out of the truck for a short hike that overlooked the valley.

Gorgeous view...

Levi, Jen, Uriah, Hadassah, and Nehemiah... love this family

Making Matthew pose with me...

Levi and Jen had to race off after we finished the tour… but Matthew and I were able to take a leisurely drive back to town and enjoy some more views along the way.  All in all this was a perfect day and I am so glad we were able to spend the day with the Read family at such a beautiful location.

Beauty wherever we go...

Enjoying the drive home...

I was in awe of this view..!
