Our cruise finally ended on August 10th,
and we had to disembark from the ship. It was so much fun cruising with the family,
and the time flew by so quickly. We had one more day together before everyone
went their own way. We originally had booked a train for later in the day, but
we arrived at the station so early that we opted to pay a little more to get on
an earlier train and get into London, so we didn’t have to have all the luggage
with us.
I was so glad when we were no longer
on these commuter trains that did not have room for much luggage. This time
around, we used seats to store our luggage instead of having to stand up in the
aisle and holding onto it the entire ride. Thankfully, the train was not as crowded,
and we were able to do this. Matthew and I were able to keep a better eye on
our luggage this time around.
We loaded up into smaller Ubers to get
to the hotel instead of waiting around for bigger ones to arrive. The one that
we went on drove us on a crazy route, which led us past an active movie filming
site. It was pretty fun to see the cast and crew. We were able to get a handful
of pictures and when I got to the hotel, I did some research online to figure
out what movie they were filming in the area.
After resting a bit, we got together tour
the local area, which included the Tower of London and Tower Bridge… which is
why we decided to stay in this hotel, to have some different sites to see close
to the hotel. Matthew was a trooper and walked with us for a bit. We also
finished buying our souvenirs that we needed in London.

Its buildings and grounds served historically as a royal palace, a political prison, a place of execution, an arsenal, a royal mint, a menagerie, and a public records office. It is located on the north bank of the River Thames, in the extreme western portion of the borough of Tower Hamlets, on the border with the central City of London.
We found out that Carrie had never had
Crepes before and that I absolutely love them, so he bought crepes for everyone
before we headed over to the bridge. Of course, everyone enjoyed the crepes. What
an experience for Carrie to have her first crepe in another country.
As we headed across the bridge, Matthew headed back to the hotel. He did not want to overdo it and walk too much. He also didn’t want me to miss out on seeing the sites. I made him let me know when he made it back, so I didn’t have to worry.
We contemplated going to the top of
the bridge, but the line was not worth the wait, so we decided not to do it and
just continued to the other side. Of course, we enjoyed all the views… on the
bridge and the other side. There was a nice park on the other side so when the
parents wanted to go shopping, Carrie and I decided to wait for them in the
park and visit. One of the best parts of the trip was getting to know my cousin
better and I will forever treasure moments like this as we sat in a park in
London and just visited about life.
