Happy Father’s Day…!

Just like Mother's Day, this is a Holiday that is not always easy.  It can be a reminder for those who may not have a relationship with their father or with a child… or even more heartbreaking the “loss” of one who has departed life on earth. Death and broken relationships can make holidays hard… but God.

God is a Father to the fatherless.  He loves better than any earthly father ever could.  He paves the way for reconciliation because He is God that reconciles.  He reached down from Heaven and brought us back into relationship with Him. He turned our heart of stone, into a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26).  He shows us how to forgive and be forgiven because He first forgave us. He is the God who opened His loving arms to the Prodigal Son.  He left the 99, to save the 1…!  What an example of pure love.

Of course, God did provide me with an amazing father.  My father loves us children well.  Even in his retirement he takes the time to help out with little (and big) projects that we have around the house. He jokes about not coming back to visit so he doesn’t have to do any more work, but I know that he loves me too much not to help and for that I am forever grateful.  So, if you remember throughout the year about all of the things that “went wrong”… Dad is here to the rescue and even spent Father’s Day working on one of the projects on the list.

Lawn motor started smoking halfway through my last mow...
He not only fixed it but mowed the lawn for me!

New Instant Hot water heater for making my teas...

The garage water line ended up having two leaks in it...

So, he decided to change out the entire line...
on Father's Day!

He only has a couple more projects to go but I am grateful for each and every one of that he does...!
