Matthew and I ended July going camping in Green Water. We decided to take his friend Shane (Cooper) with us. Originally, we were only planning on going for a couple days but we were enjoying ourselves so much that we decided to extend the trip and stay a few more days.
It was just nice to get away in the woods and not have to worry about
anything else for a while. Matthew took
me shooting at the gun range… It was fun to try out the various guns and watch
him as he perfected his shot.
The rest of the trip was very relaxing as we sat around camp and
enjoyed the river and campfire in the evening.
We did go for a couple drives to enjoy the beauty of the area… and of
course we ate amazing food the entire time.
The only negative to the entire trip was that one of our
neighbors was a group of addicts. Matthew
saw the signs earlier in the week, but it was confirmed when one of the ladies
had car troubles and we went down to help her and saw the drug paraphernalia
all throughout her car. One of the
ladies had been living out there for over a month and her friends come out to
party off and on. It saddens me how lost they are that they are covering their
pain with drugs. I don’t know what her
life story is, but I do pray for her when she comes to mind.
