December – Mirko and Natalia’s Visit – Celebrating Mirko’s Birthday..!

Although Mirko doesn’t like to celebrate his birthday we wanted to make it extra special. His actual birthday was on Saturday December 28^th. Matthew and he got up early that morning to get together with Fuego (Chris) and go shooting. Mirko had wanted to go shooting all week so he was extra excited and I guess a really good shot. After shooting they went out to lunch before coming back to the house.

That evening Chris came over for an asado and to be able to visit with Natalia since they met down in Argentina 10 years ago. The food and the company were great and we ended up staying up talking until late into the evening.

The actual party for Mirko was the next day after church. I planned a get together at Jimmy and Karen’s to watch the Seahawks game. Karen made spaghetti which they loved and Kim brought the cupcakes. Of course, we sang “Happy Birthday” and had cupcakes during half-time but we ate throughout the whole game. Michelle Hughes was able to come with her family and visit with Natalia. Although, not everyone from the 2003 trip got to see Natalia I tried to hook up with as many as possible.

After the game we stayed around to visit and play a couple games of pool. All in all it was a great weekend and the perfect end to their first week in town. When we got home we quickly did some laundry and packed for the first of our two trips.
